KSSUS

the creative identity of Zurich-based artist Katharina Ssu Specht — its name derived from her own.

PAINTINGS

Each painting develops intuitively through layers of colour, texture and movement. Balancing spontaneity with structure, every work becomes a unique composition with its own distinct presence.

WORKS ON PAPER

Created through translucent layers and fluid gestures, the watercolours explore lightness, movement and the natural flow of pigment on paper. Each work captures a spontaneous moment in a delicate, expressive form.

FROM SURFACE TO FORM

The same intuitive language moves beyond the painted surface

OBJECTS

Each sculptural object is shaped intuitively by hand, allowing texture, irregularity and material to guide its final form. Created as a one-of-a-kind piece, it exists between sculpture and object.

CERAMICS

Handcrafted ceramics combine intuitive forms with everyday function. Individual glazes, tactile surfaces and subtle irregularities make every bowl, cup and vessel a unique piece.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST

KATHARINA SSU SPECHT

Originally from Germany, Katharina has been based in Zurich since 2024. In a family with a strong artistic background, she began developing her own practice in 2017, initially focusing on oil painting. Her work evolved intuitively through the years, colour, material and form. Layers, gestures and irregularities remain visible, giving each piece its own distinct presence.

KSSUS—drawn from her name—is the signature of her independent artistic practice.
